2. General Refund Policy

Dreams Bakers By FBA aims to maintain a fair and transparent approach to course payments and refund requests.

Refund eligibility may depend on:

  • The selected Course or training program
  • The type of payment made
  • The stage of enrolment
  • Whether the Course has commenced
  • Whether training sessions have already been completed
  • Whether training resources or materials have already been provided
  • The reason for cancellation
  • Any applicable administrative or processing costs
  • The specific terms communicated at the time of enrolment
  • Applicable law

Unless expressly agreed otherwise by the Academy:

  • Registration or admission-related charges may be non-refundable.
  • Fees relating to Completed Sessions are generally non-refundable.
  • Refund requests must be submitted through the Academy’s official communication channel.
  • Approved refunds, where applicable, may be subject to reasonable administrative or processing deductions.
  • Non-attendance does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund.
  • Promotional offers, discounted courses, and special packages may have separate refund conditions.

The Academy reserves the right to assess refund requests based on the individual circumstances and applicable Course policy.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or restrict any legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

3. Course Registration and Payment

Course fees and applicable payment requirements will be communicated to Students before enrolment.

A Student may be required to make a registration payment, advance payment, full payment, or payment according to an agreed schedule.

Students are responsible for:

  • Making payments within the applicable deadlines.
  • Providing accurate payment information.
  • Keeping payment receipts or transaction records.
  • Reviewing the applicable Course and refund conditions before making payment.

Submission of an enquiry does not create a payment obligation unless the Student proceeds with registration or enrolment.

4. Registration and Admission Charges

Registration or admission-related charges may be used for administrative processing, enrolment management, seat reservation, batch allocation, or related activities.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing by the Academy:

  • Registration fees may be non-refundable.
  • Admission-related charges may be non-refundable once the registration process has been completed.
  • A Student’s decision not to attend after completing registration does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund.

5. Cancellation Before Course Commencement

If a Student wishes to cancel their enrolment before the Course or training program begins, the Student should contact the Academy through the official communication channel as early as possible.

The Academy may consider the request based on:

  • The type of Course
  • Amount already paid
  • Registration status
  • Administrative work already completed
  • Materials or resources already arranged
  • Seat or batch reservation
  • Applicable promotional or special pricing conditions

Where a refund is approved, reasonable administrative or processing deductions may apply.

Cancellation before commencement does not automatically guarantee a full refund.

6. Cancellation After Course Commencement

Once a Course or training program has commenced, refund eligibility may be limited.

This is because the Academy may already have allocated:

  • Trainer or instructor time
  • Classroom or training space
  • Practical equipment
  • Ingredients or materials
  • Course resources
  • Administrative resources
  • Student-specific training arrangements

Fees relating to training sessions or services already provided are generally non-refundable.

Any request for a refund after commencement will be evaluated according to the individual circumstances and applicable Course policy.

7. Completed Training Sessions

Once a training session has been conducted or made available to the Student, the fee relating to that Completed Session is generally non-refundable.

This applies whether the Student:

  • Attended the session
  • Attended only part of the session
  • Chose not to participate fully
  • Was absent without prior approval
  • Decided later not to continue the Course

The Academy may consider exceptional circumstances where appropriate and where supported by relevant information or documentation.

8. Non-Attendance and Missed Classes

Failure to attend a scheduled class does not automatically qualify the Student for a refund.

Students are responsible for attending their scheduled sessions and following the Course timetable communicated by the Academy.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • Missed classes are not automatically refundable.
  • Absence does not automatically reduce the Course Fee.
  • Failure to attend does not cancel the Student’s payment obligation.
  • The Academy may provide a make-up session or alternative arrangement only where specifically offered or approved by the Academy.

Any such arrangement may depend on batch availability, trainer availability, Course structure, and operational requirements.

9. Course Schedule Changes

The Academy may reasonably change:

  • Class dates
  • Class timings
  • Trainers or instructors
  • Workshop dates
  • Batch arrangements
  • Training sessions
  • Training locations
  • Certain Course modules

Such changes may occur due to instructor availability, operational requirements, holidays, maintenance, events, or other circumstances.

Where reasonably possible, the Academy will communicate significant changes to Students.

A reasonable schedule change does not automatically create a right to a refund where the Academy continues to provide the Course or an appropriate alternative arrangement.

10. Course Cancellation by the Academy

In certain circumstances, the Academy may need to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or discontinue a Course, workshop, or training session.

Reasons may include:

  • Insufficient batch availability
  • Trainer or instructor unavailability
  • Operational requirements
  • Facility or maintenance issues
  • Safety concerns
  • Government restrictions
  • Public emergencies
  • Technical or infrastructure issues
  • Other circumstances beyond the Academy’s reasonable control

Where the Academy cancels a Course before the relevant training has been provided, the Academy may, depending on the circumstances:

  • Offer an alternative batch
  • Reschedule the Course
  • Offer an equivalent arrangement
  • Provide an eligible refund for the unused portion

Any refund will be assessed based on the payment received, services already provided, costs incurred, and applicable circumstances.

11. Transfer to Another Batch

Where permitted by the Academy, a Student may request transfer to another available batch instead of cancelling the Course.

Batch transfers are subject to:

  • Availability
  • Course structure
  • Trainer availability
  • Applicable transfer conditions
  • Timing of the request

A batch transfer is not guaranteed and may require prior approval from the Academy.

A request to transfer to another batch does not automatically create a right to a refund.

12. Promotional Offers and Discounted Courses

Promotional offers, discounted Courses, special packages, seasonal offers, and other promotional arrangements may have separate refund and cancellation conditions.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Promotional prices may have restricted refund eligibility.
  • Special packages may have specific validity periods.
  • Discounts may not be transferable.
  • Promotional benefits may not be convertible into cash.
  • Cancellation after the Course has commenced may not qualify for a refund.

Students should review the specific terms communicated with a promotional offer before making payment.

13. Course Materials, Ingredients, Tools, and Additional Charges

Certain Courses may involve additional expenses such as:

  • Ingredients
  • Baking materials
  • Tools or equipment
  • Course kits
  • Workshops
  • Examination or assessment charges
  • Special practical activities
  • Other Course-specific resources

Where such items or services have already been purchased, prepared, supplied, or utilized on behalf of a Student, the related amount may be non-refundable, subject to applicable law and the specific Course terms.

Any additional charges applicable to a Course will be communicated where reasonably possible before the relevant expense is incurred.

14. Refund Due to Personal Circumstances

A Student may request cancellation due to personal circumstances such as:

  • Change of plans
  • Personal commitments
  • Relocation
  • Work or educational commitments
  • Health-related circumstances
  • Family circumstances
  • Other personal reasons

Such circumstances do not automatically guarantee a refund.

The Academy may review the request on a case-by-case basis and may request reasonable supporting information where necessary.

15. Exceptional Refund Requests

In exceptional circumstances, the Academy may consider a refund request outside the standard conditions.

Examples may include:

  • Duplicate payment
  • Genuine payment-processing error
  • Payment received for a Course that the Academy is unable to provide
  • Other verified exceptional circumstances

The Academy may require:

  • Written refund request
  • Proof of payment
  • Transaction details
  • Relevant supporting documents
  • Student and Course details

Each request will be evaluated based on its individual circumstances.

16. Refunds for Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If a Student accidentally makes a duplicate payment or pays an incorrect amount, the Student should notify the Academy as soon as reasonably possible.

After verification:

  • An eligible excess payment may be refunded.
  • Applicable transaction or payment processing charges may be deducted where they cannot be recovered.
  • The refund may be processed through the original payment method where reasonably possible.

The Academy may request transaction records or proof of payment before processing such a refund.

17. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved:

  • The Academy will communicate the applicable refund amount where reasonably appropriate.
  • Refunds will generally be processed through the original payment method where reasonably possible.
  • Processing time may depend on the payment method, bank, payment gateway, or other financial service provider.
  • Any applicable non-recoverable transaction or administrative charges may be deducted where permitted.

The time taken by a bank or payment provider to credit the refund is outside the Academy’s direct control.

18. Refund Request Procedure

All refund requests should be submitted through the Academy’s official communication channel.

The request should include:

  • Student’s full name
  • Registered phone number
  • Email address, where applicable
  • Selected Course
  • Date of payment
  • Payment or transaction reference
  • Reason for cancellation or refund
  • Supporting documents, where applicable

The Academy may request additional information before reviewing the request.

A refund request is not considered approved until the Academy confirms the refund through an official communication channel.

19. Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate registration information.
  • Making payments within applicable deadlines.
  • Attending scheduled training sessions.
  • Following Course rules and instructions.
  • Reviewing Course details before enrolment.
  • Maintaining valid contact information.
  • Informing the Academy promptly about circumstances affecting attendance or participation.

Failure to comply with these responsibilities may affect eligibility for rescheduling, batch transfer, or refund.

20. No Refund for Course Outcomes

The Academy provides training and practical education designed to develop knowledge and skills.

However, individual outcomes may vary depending on factors including:

  • Attendance
  • Practice
  • Participation
  • Learning ability
  • Individual effort
  • Previous experience
  • Skill development
  • Career decisions
  • Market conditions

Therefore, a Student’s dissatisfaction with their individual learning progress, expected skill level, career outcome, business outcome, or employment outcome does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund.

21. Placement and Career Assistance

Where placement assistance or career guidance is offered as part of a Course or Academy service, such assistance does not constitute a guarantee of:

  • Employment
  • Particular salary
  • Particular employer
  • Job position
  • Employment location
  • Employment duration

Failure to obtain employment or achieve a particular career outcome does not automatically qualify a Student for a Course fee refund.

22. Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstances

The Academy shall not be responsible for delays, interruptions, rescheduling, or inability to provide a Course or training session due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Natural disasters
  • Government restrictions
  • Public emergencies
  • Fire
  • Power or infrastructure failures
  • Epidemics or pandemics
  • Strikes
  • Civil disturbances
  • Technical failures
  • Transportation disruptions
  • Other unforeseen events

Where reasonably possible, the Academy may reschedule affected sessions or provide an appropriate alternative arrangement.

Refund eligibility in such circumstances will depend on the services already provided, costs incurred, and alternative arrangements available.

23. No Automatic Refund for Policy Violations

Where a Student’s access to Academy services is suspended or terminated due to serious misconduct, violation of Academy rules, misuse of facilities, fraudulent information, abusive behaviour, or other serious policy violations, refund eligibility will be assessed according to the circumstances, applicable Course terms, and applicable law.

No automatic refund shall arise solely because access to the Academy’s services has been restricted due to a Student’s conduct.

24. Grievance and Support

Students who have questions regarding payments, cancellations, rescheduling, or refund eligibility are encouraged to contact the Academy through its official communication channels.

The Academy will review genuine refund-related concerns fairly and based on the applicable Course terms and circumstances.

25. Policy Updates

Dreams Bakers By FBA may update or modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Courses, payment procedures, operational policies, or applicable legal requirements.

Any updated version will be published on the relevant policy page with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Students are encouraged to review this Policy before making future payments or enrolments.

26. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Refund & Cancellation Policy shall be governed by the applicable laws of India.

Subject to applicable law, disputes relating to payments, cancellations, refunds, Courses, or Academy services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or limit any legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
